CCTV Surveillance

The School is under CCTV cameras surveillance, which is being used to provide surveillance and to monitor and keep track of all the activities that take place inside the premises of the school. This surveillance activity is done with complete awareness on the student’s, parent’s and teacher’s parts.

School Security

CCTV security systems help in preventing or identifying unauthorized intruders who enter the premises, thereby promoting school security.
Keeping track of remote entrances and exits is easier through CCTV cameras.
CCTV surveillance systems can keep track of housekeeping and ensure they are doing their work.
CCTV security systems help organize exit in case of emergencies.
School security measure to protect school property and identify perpetrators and vandals.

For Teachers

Medical Room

For us, the health of our students is of primary concern.
Shanti Niketan School has an excellent medical room within the campus with medical professionals and supporting staff available during school hours. Health checkups are held class-wise for all the students. Minor ailments will be attended to immediately.
At the time of admission, we acquire each student’s medical records (including information on any allergies) so that it will be referred whenever he/she comes to the medical room.
We not only take care of the student's health but also advise them on hygiene and preventive care that may be needed during the years of rapid physical growth. In case the child is not feeling well, the teacher or the house parent takes them to the doctor.

Smart Class Rooms

Smartboards technology in classrooms is the best way to enhance student’s learning experience by projecting visual elements. It is an innovative idea for better learning and teaching and a good way of digital medium of notes, provides access to online resources, makes learning enjoyable, health friendly, makes understanding and communication easier and also increase the academic performance of the students. Teachers and students are able to identify individual strengths and weakness in various subject areas and isolate areas /topics that need more focus or review. Using smart class rooms can help us stay ahead with technology that could make the education process simpler and increase the interest of students in studies.

Computer Lab

The School has two computer laboratories with 30 computers in each lab accessible to students. It has advanced infrastructure in terms of hardware and software which cater to the requirements of the students, teachers and the curriculum. The school is equipped with a dedicated broadband Internet connection (Fully Wi-Fi Enabled Campus) for enterprising students get a chance to be familiar with the Internet. They do comprehensive research for their projects and presentations.

The department has qualified committed teachers to teach different classes at different levels i.e. Primary, Secondary Sr. Secondary. The faculty members make continuous efforts to see that the students must get expertise in practical implementation of tools they have in their curriculum.

The curriculum has been planned in such a way that the students will get exposure to various technologies and softwares. In the primary section, the students are trained to use basic softwares like Windows, MS-Office (Ms-Word, MS-Power point, Ms-Excel etc.). Along with this, they get exposure to computer programming at elementary stage through the computer languages like Python in order to improve their logical skills.

The students are assessed on their practical skills over a regular time interval via projects and assignments given to them. In the higher classes the students have an option to learn advanced softwares & Programming languages and DBMS Software Skills which are the part of their curriculum. On the other hand to sharpen their logical and reasoning skills, they learn computer languages like HTML, Python etc.

Besides taking care of the curriculum, the students are given opportunities to participate in various competitions. The faculty members work hard with the students to bring them up to the level of expectation to compete with the students all over the country.

Mathematics Lab

How Children Learn Mathematics:

Children acquire mathematical understanding by constructing their own meaning through ever-increasing levels of abstraction.
They start by exploring their own personal experiences, understandings, and knowledge.
Hands-on materials are provided to let them touch, feel, and count objects to learn mathematical concepts.
Place value blocks are used to teach concepts of place value.
Manipulatives are employed to explore different math concepts.

Purpose of the Math Lab:

Emphasize learning by doing and hands-on experience.
Provide children with opportunities to discover and understand mathematical concepts through active problem-solving.
Develop physical involvement to add new ideas to their cognitive structure.
Encourage children to think, look for patterns, and ask questions.
Foster an attitude of inquiry and curiosity towards mathematics.
It provides an opportunity to students to understand and internalise the basic mathematical concepts through concrete situations.
The laboratory gives greater scope for individual participation.
It helps build interest and confidence among the students in learning the subject.
It provides opportunity to the students to repeat an activity several times.
It encourages students to become autonomous learners and allows an individual student to learn at his or her own pace.
Our mathematics laboratory is well equipped to conduct practicals for all classes.
It allows and encourages students to discuss, think and assimilate the concepts in a better manner through group learning.
It provides opportunity to students to understand the applications of mathematics in their surrounding and real life situations.
It widens the experimental base and prepares the ground for better learning of new areas in the subject.
All activities of mathematics laboratory involve both the mind and the hands of students working together, which facilitates cognition.

Science Lab

CHEMISTRY LAB:-

The chemistry laboratory is well equipped to meet the requirement of secondary and senior secondary level of education. The laboratory is well ventilated. The gas supply is also fitted with proper safety measure. Water supply and proper sink are installed. Modern techniques has been used to install the chemical stand. Moreover, lockers are available for the students in the laboratory so that they can put their necessary record and lab apron inside them. Laboratory has enough space to accommodate more than 15 students at a time to perform their practicals and teacher can cooperate the students individually. Other facilities are also mentioned below.

Chemistry laboratory equipment include water bath, Bunsen burner, Thermometer, pH meter.
Laboratory consumable like boiling flask, plastic funnel, volumetric flask, chromatographic apparatus, petri dish are present.
Laboratory accessories like tripod stand, laboratory stands, laboratory clamps and laboratory stoppers are available.
Laboratory liquid handling equipment’s like burette, pipette, measuring cylinders, beakers, test tubes.
For flame test, platinum wire and glass for observation are present.

Safety measures:-

Students are required to wear laboratory apron, hand gloves while performing experiment.
Fire extinguishers are installed in the form of CO2 cylinders.
First-aid box is present for sudden accident and injury.

BIOLOGY LAB:-

The purpose of laboratory in school at secondary and senior secondary level is to give students the experience with scientific investigation. Laboratory introduce students to tools used in molecular and cellular biology.

In Shanti Niketan School Biology laboratory is well equipped to meet the requirement of secondary and senior secondary level students.

Propper gas and water supply is available in biology laboratory with proper safety measures. Fire extinguisher and First aid box are available in biology laboratory.

PHYSICS LAB:-

Shanti Niketan School is proud to have a sophisticated Physics Laboratory with the latest state-of-the art facilities that equip the students to have a hands on experience. The Flat-topped tables used as student workstations allow multiple arrangements and combinations for laboratory work and small-group activities. The equipment ranges from the commonly found lens, magnet, beam balance, spring balance, glass prism to the advanced apparatus like voltmeter, ammeter and resistors and spectrometers to name a few. Furthermore, the spacious physics lab is designed in a way to accommodate students comfortably.

The Laboratory reinforces the knowledge acquired in the theory class by emphasizing on the fundamental concepts of physics. It aids the students understanding of using lab equipments. Moreover, it makes them realize the importance of direct observation as compared to inference based on theory. It helps the students develop a broad array of basic skills, especially experimental and analytical skills, and a general understanding of the tools of experimental physics and data analysis.

Language Lab

Clarity Language Lab:

Clarity is a state-of-the-art language lab designed to modernize language teaching methods.
It offers a robust language teaching platform with the latest technology and multimedia content.
Integrated teacher and student consoles allow two-way communication, student monitoring, and control.
Features like group discussions and voice comparison with graphical representation make language teaching interactive and productive.
Clarity's curriculum-based English learning software covers various aspects of English, including Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing, Grammar, and Pronunciation.

Listening:

The 'Listening' section offers audio passages covering various topics from phase 1 to 4.
Students listen to these passages and answer multiple-choice questions, with increasing difficulty in subsequent phases (1-4).

Reading:

The 'Reading' section provides different levels of reading comprehension passages.
The software includes a 'read-aloud' option to assist students who require additional support.

Speaking:

The 'Speaking' section engages students in dialogue-based conversations on topics like "talking about yourself" or "asking for directions."
Students first listen to speakers converse and then participate using grammatically correct sentences and intonation.

Writing:

The 'Writing' section offers practice in various writing styles, including letter writing, story writing, essays, and more.
Each writing style is explained, and students work on their own, with the option for read-aloud support.

Grammar:

The 'Grammar' section covers all parts of speech, tenses, articles, degrees of comparison, and more.
Students receive detailed explanations and practice exercises with increasing difficulty, along with access to correct answers for immediate feedback.

Pronunciation:

Clarity offers separate speaking assessments, allowing the recording of both student and facilitator voices.

Progress Tracking:

A progress card displays the student's name, completion date, and time to track their progress.
Students can also print their progress cards for reference.

Additional Features:

Clarity includes add-on software packages to prepare students for SAT and IELTS exams, although currently, it primarily serves students with English as a second language.
